Sulfurtrioxide Trimethylamine

SULFUR TRIOXIDE TRIMETHYLAMINEOMPLEX, TRIMETHYLAMINE SULFUR TRIOXIDE, SULFUR TRIOXIDE TRIMETHYLAMINE, Trimethylamine-sulphur trioxide complex, Sulfur trioxide-trimethylamine complex, TRLIMETHYLAMINE SULPHUR TRIOXIDE COMPLEX, TRIMETHYLAMINE SULFUR TRIOXIDE COMPLEX, Sulfur trioxide campd. with trimethylamine

Sulfurtrioxide TrimethylamineSulfur trioxide (alternative spelling of sulfur trioxide sometimes referred to as nisso sulfur) is the compound in chemistry that has an equation SO3. It is called “unquestionably the most important economically” sulfur oxide. It is produced in industrial quantities as a precursor for sulfuric acid.

Sulfur trioxide is found in a variety of forms, including gaseous monomer crystal trimer, and polymer. Sulfur trioxide forms a solid at temperatures just below the temperature of a room with a comparatively small range of liquids. Gaseous SO3 is the principal ingredient in acid rain.

Sulfur trioxide-trimethylamine complex acts as a reagent for sulfonation and sulfation reactions. It is used as a reactant for the synthesis of sulfate-conjugated resveratrol metabolites and chitooligosaccharides. It is employed in conjunction with dodecyl-thioglycopyranoside. This serves as a surfactant to aid in the separation of enantiomers. Furthermore, it is a nucleophile that is used in the production of alfa-tosyloxy ketones.
