P-Anisaldehyde Dimethylacetal

Anisaldehyde Dimethyl Acetal is a transparent, colorless, or light-colored liquid. The flashpoint of anisaldehyde dimethyl is 114.0degC. It is subjected to allylation reactions trimethyl silane alkylated by Iron(III) chloride. Anisaldehyde dimethyl acetal undergoes ytterbium-catalyzed tandem carboalkoxylation/Friedel-Crafts reaction with 1-phenyl-benzylidene cyclopropane to yield 1-(p-anisyl)-2-(2-methoxyethyl)-3-phenylene.

Anisaldehyde dimethyl Acetal was utilized to synthesize the precursor to lipid A. It was also used in the synthesis of 2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl-3-((4R)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4-carboxamide)propanoate.
