4-methyl-2-methylthiophenol, 2,4-Xylenethiol, 2,4-DIAMINOTOLUENE SULFATE, m-Xylene-4-thiol, 2,4-dimethyl-benzenethiol, 4-Thio-m-xylene, Benzenethiol, 2,4-dimethyl-, 4-Mercapto-1.3-dimethyl-benzol, 2,4-Dimethylthiophenol, 2,4-Thioxylenol, 2,4-dimethyl-thiophenol, 2,4-DiMethylbenzenethiol, 4-Mercapto-m-xylene, Benzenethiol,2,4-dimethyl

2,4-Dimethylthiophenol2,4-Dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) is a chlorinated derivative of phenol that has its molecular formula of Cl2C6H3OH. It is a white solid which is slightly acidic (pKa = 7.9). It is produced on a large scale as a precursor to the herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D).

2,6-Dimethylbenzenethiol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as thiophenols. Thiophenols are substances that contain a thiophenol ring. This makes a phenol derivative substituting the oxygen atom in the group of hydroxyl (attached with the benzene) with a sulfur atom. 2,6-Dimethylbenzenethiol is a meaty, metallic, and phenolic-tasting compound. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 2,6-Dimethylbenzenethiol.
